A Message from Mayor Sheila Dixon

June 3, 2008

Thank you for attending the Mayor’s Red Line Community Summit!

Mayor Sheila Dixon's Thank You LetterThe Mayor’s Red Line Community Summit on Saturday May 10, 2008, was very successful and I want to personally thank you for your support. Through the efforts of our speakers, panelists and the Citizens of Baltimore, we were able to learn more about the Red Line project and its potential to bring about neighborhood revitalization, environmental protection and economic empowerment.

With your help, we have now formed the backbone for the Red Line Community Compact - a document of guiding principles and strategies for the City to advocate for during the design and construction of the project. It will be a document that people of faith and good will can come together behind to say, yes, we know the Red Line will have its challenges-but we believe enough in ourselves, in our communities, and in the process to make this be a win-win for all of us.

This is just the first step. We need you to stay involved—to help us finalize the community compact and move forward with this critically important endeavor.

Sincerely,

Sheila Dixon
